An initiative health status can be changed manually or to an automated status. These indicators give us a quick look at the overall performance of the initiative. The person responsible for the initiative must be in charge of doing the updates.
In the initiative overview in the top left side you will see a number of health indicators - progress, overall status, in time, in budget, in quality and commitment. These can be changed in the admin function by an authorized user. See the tutorial on ‘Setting health assessment labels and descriptions in Admin’ for more information.
For manual updates, click on the status bar and in the pop up drag the pin to the desired level. It is important to leave a change reason, which can be done by clicking on ‘Add change reason’. Click ‘save’ to continue. To see the history of changes, click on the clock icon to the left of the status bar. Here you will see a history of all the changes.
Alternatively, you can have the initiative overall status in automatic. This means that you will be able to roll the KPIs in the initiative up to automatically indicate the overall status of the initiative.
Click on ‘purpose’ in the menu bar to the left. Scroll down until you see ‘Automatic status’ and click on the box to the right. Here you will see more options appear. If you want the initiative to automatically turn red when a KPI is in red, select the ‘Red override’ option. Below this option you will see a section where you can choose the KPIs you want to roll up.
Select the KPI or KPIs you would like to add. When you click on the ‘Choose Measure’ you will see all the KPIs currently linked to the initiative. Select the ones you wish to add. You can choose more than one at a time. Once you’ve selected them, click on ‘+ADD’.
Now you have to establish the weighing factors for the KPIs. For example, if you chose 2 KPIs, they can either be 50/50 or 60/40. Your choice. Click on ‘save’ to continue. When you click on the overview page, you will see the Overall status Is now set on automatic. This means that any changes in the selected KPIs will reflect in the overall status.
