ADMIN ONLY: This guide shows
a. how we can delete a grid completely from Scientrix
b. how we can remove a grid from a Grid Group without deleting the Grid
1. Let's assume we want to delete the Grid "Graphics Test".
If we want to completely delete this Grid from Scientrix we need to select the Grid on the left menu bar and then click on the 3-dot action icon next to the grid name.
Please note that the 3-dot action icon only appears for ADMIN users.
2. In the drop-down menu, we click on "Remove or Delete Grid"
3. In the pop-up modal we note the important message that this deletion cannot be undone. So be sure that you want to delete this Grid. Then click on "Delete".
Please note that when deleting a Grid, the Elements in that Grid are NOT deleted. They can still be found in the Element library and can be re-linked to other grids if necessary.
4. You can now see on the left menu that the Grid "Graphics Test" is no longer in the Grid Group Execution tracking.
Then we click on our avatar at the top right
5. Then we click on "Admin"
6. Then we click on "Manage Grids"
7. The Grid list appears, and we can see that the Grid "Graphics Test" has been completely deleted from the system.
8. Now let's assume we want to remove the Grid "Operations" from the Grid Group Execution Tracking BUT we DO NOT want to delete the Grid "Operations" completely.
We can accomplish that using the Admin Manage Grid Group feature.
To do that, we click on our avatar at the top right.
9. Then we click on "Admin"
10. Then we click on "Manage Grid Groups"
11. Here we can see all the Grid Groups defined in Scientrix and how many and which Grids they include.
12. Next, we click on the pencil icon to edit the Grid Group
13. We see that the Grid Group Execution Tracking contains the 2 grids, Finance and Operations. We want to remove "Operations" from this Grid Group, so we click on the "minus" icon for Operations
14. The Operations Grid disappears and we click on "Save"
15. Then we click on the logo top left to go back to the Landing page
16. And as we can see now, the Grid Group "Execution Tracking" only includes the Finance Grid. The Operations Grid has been removed.
17. We then go back to the Grid list by clicking the avatar, Admin and Manage Grids
18. And we can see that the Operations Grid still exists. So we have only removed it from the Grid Group Execution Tracking but NOT deleted it from the system.
