Change Navigation To Be More Simple

Background: Scientrix navigation has become complex. It makes it harder for new users to understand what they should be doing and it makes it harder for existing users to understand where to go.

Solution: We will simplify the navigation system in Scientrix so that there is less clutter and only the important navigation is visible at first glance. This will be coupled with better system training and navigation tutorials.

Blue Menu Bar (Main Navigation)

  • My MatrixGrids

    • We will only show the following items. The rest will be placed under a “Show More”

      • My MatrixGrids

      • My Elements

      • My Initiatives

    • My Tasks, My Issues, My Metrics, My Analytics, My Risks and My Filters will be placed under a “Show More” with the “Show More” collapsed by default

  • My Workspace (Menu Item)

    • We will only show the following items. The rest will be hidden under a “Show More”

      • My MatrixGrids

      • My Elements

      • My Initiatives

    • My Tasks, My Issues, My Metrics, My Analytics, My Risks and My Filters must be placed under a “Show More” with the “Show More” collapsed by default

  • Grid and List Views

    • We will only show the following items. The rest will be placed under a “Reports” button

      • My Workspace

      • Grid View

      • List View

    • “Team” will be removed

    • “Filters” will be removed. A user can click “Manage Filters” in the top right “Saved Filters” menu to manage filters.

    • Initiatives, Metrics, Risks will be hidden by default under a “Reports” button with the “Reports” button closed by default

  • Element Overview

    • We will only show the following items. The rest will be placed under a “Show More” with the “Show More” collapsed by default

      • My Workspace

      • Go to grid (If Applicable)

      • Element Overview

    • All other element module links will be placed under a “Show More” by default even if it has content.

    • If the boxes are not selected in the "configure content", then those menu items will not appear (same with Initiative, it depends on whether they are enabled or not on configure content). It will only show when the module active in the “Configure Content” 

  • Initiative Overview

    • We will only show the following items. The rest will be hidden under a “Show More” with the “Show More” closed by default

      • My Workspace

      • Go to element

      • Initiative Overview

    • All other initiative module links will be placed under a “Show More” by default even if it has content.

    • If the boxes are not selected on configure content, then those menu items will not appear (same with Initiative, it depends on whether they are enabled or not on configure content). It will only show when the module active in the “Configure Content” 

  • Help & More

    • We will add the “Help & More” navigation to make it easier to access the Help Centre
