Earlier in 2022 we implemented Assessments and Patterns which allow users to color grid elements according to the assessment values for the selected criteria and this feature has been hugely powerful and successful. From user feedback and innovation workshops we have now made it possible to combine multiple assessment criteria or user filters to identify the most relevant elements considering multiple criteria.
By introducing filtering to the grid, we have now made it possible to combine multiple assessment criteria to identify the most relevant elements and enable even better decision-making.
You can find the filters and assessments button in the top right corner of your Grid or Element List. Users can flexibly add and remove filters and assessments relevant to each grid.
The "Patterns" feature still allows you to colour the grid map according to a selected assessment. This feature has not changed in function but moved to the filter drawer for ease of use.
We created a step-by-step hypothetical scenario to help you better understand the function of Filters and Combined Assessments.
Let's say you want to see how the elements of two of your members are performing and the implementation status of the top-performing elements.
In the top right corner, the "Filters" button shows you currently have zero filters active. If you click on "Filters, " you will have a few already pre-added.
To add more, click the "More" button and choose the filter you want to see. In this case, we want to look at the responsible, so we'll add the "Responsible" filter.
The next step is to select the drop-down arrow in the "Responsible" filter item and choose the relevant team members. Notice that the elements that do not meet these criteria are faded out.
Once you have selected your team members, click the drop-down arrow in the "Patterns" filter item to see the available assessment patterns in your grid. For this example, we want to apply the "Performance" pattern to this grid to see the performance of our filtered elements.
It is important to note that even though the "Assessments" feature has not changed, the positioning of the patterns has. This means that assessment items such as "Performance" or "Risk" that are outside of the "Patterns" drop-down are used for filtering, not for applying a full pattern to a grid.
After we have applied a pattern to the grid, we can see that we have elements with varying performances. But for this example, we'll say we only want to see the elements with "Good" performance. We can now achieve this using a filter.
Use the "Performance" filter item to filter out only the elements with "Good" performance. By clicking on the Performance drop-down and selecting "Good", you will see the remaining elements with Good performance that belong to these two employees.
You can apply yet another filter using the "Implementation" filter item and only show the "Ahead of Time" elements as an example.
This means you can use filters, patterns and assessments to narrow your focus on the elements that truly need attention.
Let's keep filtering. For example, you only want to see elements for which these specific members are responsible, only elements that have good performance and are ahead of time, and now you can further narrow your focus and see which of those have the highest risk of failure.
It's important to note that you're not limited to only a few filters. You can continue diving down and filtering results until you find what you need.
It's also possible to link existing filters to other grids. You don't have to recreate the filter each time. For example, if you have several grids and all of them are different projects, and you want to see your sales team's performance in those various projects, you can use the same filter throughout.
Saved filters can be used in both "Grid View" and "List View". Easily access your list of saved filters in the top right corner next to the "Filters" button.
To link a filter, simply click on "Link Existing Folder". You can also edit, unlink or delete filters from "Manage Filters, or click on the trashcan icon to delete and the pencil icon to edit.
